Quickstart: Devstral + Continue

Today, Mistral released Devstral, an Apache-2.0, 24B-parameter model trained for tool calling in real-world software development environments.

It reached #1 on SWE-bench for open-source models, but more importantly in our real-world testing it has proven to be capable of navigating and autonomously editing codebases, while running entirely on a laptop.

Devstral is trained to complete complex sequences of tasks within real codebases.

To try it yourself, you’ll want to install

• Continue for VS Code or JetBrains
• Ollama for macOS, Linux, or Windows

1. Log into Continue Hub and add ollama/devstral to your assistant

2. Download Devstral by typing in your terminal

ollama run devstral

3. Switch to Agent in Continue and ask Devstral to complete a task
